Wooden Sculptures
Video Installation

Hemispheric Encuentro in Montreal
Cáfila was a long-form video piece and sculptural installation. In the video, my mother’s hands are unwrapped so as to reveal three gestures of political significance. She then wraps my hands, making them vanish against the black backdrop. She reveals my hands, and the sequence repeats forever. The corresponding symbols were installed on pedestals near the screen, carved out of Chilean softwood.
